Leslie Sawell-Boullion is a Trainer in the National SafeCare Training and Research Center (NSTRC), which is housed in the Center for Healthy Development in the School of Public Health at the Georgia State University (GSU), where she conducts trainings and provides on-going consultation and support to sites implementing SafeCare, and contributes to the revision of SafeCare curriculum and training protocols.
Prior to joining the staff at GSU, Leslie worked for P.A.T.H.S. To Healthy Families, a program set up under the San Luis Obispo County Department of Social Services, which is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse. She provided in-home therapy and parenting classes, as well as wraparound service to families throughout the county. Leslie continued to work with in-home therapeutic services with Turning Point for New Directions, upon moving to Georgia in 2003. She also took a hiatus from her career to raise her 3 children.
